NID DAT APPLICATION FORMS FOR 2022-23 OUT – All Info Here
National Institute Of Design has released its application forms today. National Institute Of Design conducts their annual entrance exam named NID Design Aptitude Test or NID DAT to allow admissions to aspirants into their undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
Through NID DAT, candidates are eligible to take admissions into their B.Des (Bachelor Of Design) and M.Des (Masters Of Design) courses. The shortlisting of the eligible candidates for the NID DAT is done through two stages, mainly called the NID Prelims and NID Mains. If the candidate qualifies both the stages, then only they will be eligible to take admissions in the various NID campuses nationwide.

The application forms of NID 2022-23 have been released on the 6th of October 2021. Interested candidates can apply for the same before the 30th of November 2021 (The last date of application). The online registration started on 5th October 2021.

B.Des Programs
Age Criteria
- Indian Nationals/Foreign Nationals (General & Overseas category) – Candidates born on and after the 1st of July 2002 are only eligible to apply.
- Indian Nationals Reserved (OBC-NCL, SC, ST) – Candidates born on and after 1st July 1999 are only eligible to apply.
- Indian Nationals Reserved (PWD category) – Candidates born on and after 1stof July 1997 are only eligible to apply.
Education Qualifications
Candidate who has passed or is appearing in higher secondary (10+2) examinations in Science/Arts/Commerce/Humanities/other from a recognized board are only eligible to apply.
M.Des Programs
Age Criteria
- Indian Nationals/Foreign Nationals (General & Overseas category) – Candidates born on and after the 1st of July 1992 are only eligible to apply.
- Indian Nationals Reserved (OBC-NCL, SC, ST) – Candidates born on and after 1st July 1989 are only eligible to apply.
- Indian Nationals Reserved (PWD category) – Candidates born on and after 1stof July 1987 are only eligible to apply.
Education Qualifications
- Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree of 4 years duration in any specialization after 12th level, or any other equivalent from any university or institute recognized by law in India.
OR, - Full-time 4 years diploma in Design/Applied Arts/Fine Arts/Architecture after 12th level, or any other equivalent from any university or institute recognized by law in India.
OR, - Bachelor’s degree of 3 years duration in any specialization after 12th level, or any other equivalent from any university or institute recognized by law in India.
NID Entrance 2022 Exam Pattern
- The examination will be conducted through pen and paper mode
- The medium of language of the exam will be English
- There will be textual and visual types of questions in the paper
- The exam will be conducted for a duration of 3 hours.
- The paper will be of 100 marks
- M.Des DAT Mains Studio Test will be of 100 marks in English for a duration of 3 hours.
- After the studio test, the interview round will be conducted separately.
NID Entrance 2022 Exam Syllabus
- NID entrance exam 2022-23 will consist of various topics – General Knowledge, Comprehension, Creativity, Memory Drawing, Drawing Skills, Mental Ability, and Visualization.
- For M.Des Studio Test, the various topics will consist of – Creative Thinking, Observation test, 3D modeling, Body Language, Portfolio making.
