What are UCEED & CEED Entrance Exams for?

UCEED entrance exam is an entrance exam for candidates who wish to pursue a Bachelor in Design. CEED is an entrance exam for post graduate studies in technological design.

Why are students from all academic streams eligible to apply for UCEED, a design course by the top IITs?

Successful designers may hail from any background. Design is not an activity that is restricted to a certain discipline. Yet, it is worth noting that candidates from a science background have an edge over others. Candidates who come from the Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics stream may apply for any of the IIT institutes that offers the Master in Design Course. A candidate from any other background can only apply to IIT Bombay, IIT Kanpur or IITDM Jabalpur.

Who can appear for the UCEED Entrance Examination?

The eligibility criteria for UCEED Entrance Exams has been stated below:

Age limit: A person belonging to open category or OBC should be maximum 25 years of age while appearing for the UCEED Entrance Examinations. The age limit for a person from SC/ST or a person with disabilities is 30 years.

UCEED Qualification: The candidate should have obtained a rank in UCEED Entrance Examination.

Candidate should have cleared the Class XII or equivalent qualifying examination.

What is the next step after clearing UCEED & CEED Entrance Examination?

A candidate is able to pursue a Bachelor in Design from reputed colleges once he has cleared the UCEED Entrance Exams. He or she may later consider pursuing a masters in the same field if that is his or her interest.
