What is DAT?
The Design Aptitude Test (DAT) is a key section in various design entrance exams, though it may be referred to by different names, such as the Creative Ability Test (CAT) in the NIFT Entrance Exam or NID DAT Mains in the NID Entrance Exam 2025-2026. Regardless of its name, the purpose remains the same: to evaluate a candidate’s design skills and creativity. The DAT section is an essential part of any design exam, focusing on tasks like drawing, sketching, and model making. It tests a candidate’s ability to think creatively and develop innovative design solutions.
