National Institute of Design (NID) conducts an assessment for admissions to B.Des. courses in two phases each year. These include NID DAT Prelims and Mains.   1. When was NID DAT conducted? 

NID DAT examination was conducted on March 14, 2021.

  1. How to check NID DAT Result?

You can check your NID DAT prelim results by logging in with your login credentials. Make certain that you enter the following details correctly:

  • Email address
  • Date of birth
  • Roll number/application number
  • Verification code

Your name will feature on the merit list based on the category to which you belong. The different categories for which the merit list will be published separately will include SC/ST/PwD/OBC-NCL/Open.

You can check your results online by performing the following steps:

  • At first, you need to visit the website of admissions.nid.edu through this link: https://admissions.nid.edu
  • Next, you will see a page that will prompt you for different details such as your registered email address, date of birth, and your assigned roll number for NID DAT 2020. You can also enter the application number for the examination and the verification code. Refer to your admit card to find these details.
  • Following the entry of all these details along with the verification code, click on “submit”.
  • You will see the result of your NID DAT Prelims on the next screen. Save it for your future reference.
  1. NID DAT Re-evaluation

If you want to apply for the revaluation of your answer booklet, you can do so online by visiting the official website of the National Institute of Design (NID). Your request for the re-evaluation of the answers in your submitted booklet will be confined to the following:

  • Whether all the answers in your answer booklet have been examined and marks are allotted for them.
  • Whether the marks have been added up correctly and transferred to the cover page of your answer booklet.

The Admission Committee will not consider any other aspect for the re-evaluation of your answer booklet apart from the ones stated above. Also, the Committee does not assign the task of re-checking answers to any other organisation or person after receiving the online request for NID DAT re-evaluation from a candidate. This is because it maintains high confidentiality on the matter.

However, a revision of marks is possible in case of an error in the checking or calculation of marks in the previous instance. Upon revising the marks after NID DAT re-evaluation, the Admission Committee will notify a candidate about it by sending an email at their registered email address.

An online application for NID DAT re-evaluation will be considered only if a candidate enters all the details correctly along with a payment of Rs 2000. You can pay this fee online either through a credit card or debit card. As far as the documents are concerned, you need to submit a scanned copy of your admit card with the seal of the test center. It should also be duly signed by the invigilator.

  1. Weightage given to NID DAT Mains and prelims

Following the outbreak of Covid-19 and the ensuing situation, NID Admission Cell has revised the allocated weightage to NID DAT Prelims and Mains to shortlist candidates for B.Des.

According to the revised weightage, NID-DAT Prelims will get 70% of the weightage. On the other hand, NID DAT Mains will have 30% of weightage involving online interaction.

  1. NID DAT 2020 Cut off

Each candidate who takes the NID DAT Prelims examination is required to obtain minimum qualifying marks to clear it. This is called the cut off of NID-DAT. The National Institute of Design (NID) releases it every year.

  1. NID Seat Matrix

For Indian nationals, seats are reserved in various categories. The NID seat matrix guides them through with the admission process based on the category to which they belong.

In line with its reservation policy, National Institute of Design (NID) revises or refreshes its seat matrix each year. To keep the candidates informed, it releases the information about it for each year.
