Digital Game Design(M.des):

The programme focuses on skills such as

 The programme focuses on a learning approach that heavily involves research and delves into different theories related to our senses, how we perceive things, how we think and act, and how culture influences design choices. This coursemake the student understand a wide array of activities such as market/product research, consumer behaviour, systems thinking and experiential design of products/services, communication and branding, packaging, visual merchandising, furniture and fixtures, spatial design and brand management.

Universal Design(M.des): The discipline aims to bridge the gap between the privileged and underprivileged through human-centric, universal design thinking, leading to easily adaptable and viable design directions for wide and varied user groups.

Campus Culture and Community:

The NID campus aims to create an ecosystem that aims  for sharing thoughts and innovations in DesignCentre through Teaching and Learning (CTL). It was founded in late 2019. The CTL functions under the office of Activity Chairperson Education and operates across the three NID campuses- Ahmedabad, Bangalore and Gandhinagar.

CTL pillars of learning are explore, reflect-share- critique and connect.  The CTL conducts workshops, lecture and trainings to assimilate the  core principles in the faculties

The NID emphasis is to counsel young students to engage with real-world situations and develop an ability to address the needs of those situations in a contemporary context.  The young  designers are consulted and leaded by experienced faculty members. The faculty members at the institute are engaging with society and involvement in sectors of the economy through their research, and design practice.

In NID, the graduating students need to undertake projects in client organisations. The students need to undertake six month projects under the stipulated organisation and the faculty members will guide them in this. During the projects, students need to take 3 guided visits and the corresponding guide should review the work. The performance of the project is evaluated by a jury composed of NID  faculty members and external experts.
