The unending question of which courses to take after 12th has haunted all high school students. From the numerous courses to the different streams. Choosing the right course after your 12th standard is extremely important. It will pave the path for your career and your future. And choosing the wrong course can prove to be quite a setback if you’re not careful. But what to choose? You turn 15 and you’re presented with the question of what stream do you want to opt for? What do you want to be? It all can get quite confusing and anxiety-wrecking. We understand your confusion, so here are a few tips to keep in mind before choosing your course and the options your chosen course will provide you with.

How To Choose Your Stream –

  • Your Interest –What do you like, what interests you, what kind of field do you see yourselves working in, any specific career you want to pursue? These are the questions you need to ask yourself.
  • Opportunities –Does your chosen career has enough opportunity? Will it grow? What’s the growth? What will be the average salary?
  • Analyze – After considering these you’ll have at least 10-15 options, now analyze them crucially and choose which one you want to pursue and which stream it falls under – Science, Commerce, Or Arts.

After deciding these opt for your stream in your 12th standard. Some courses need a specific stream as their base for you to be eligible for entrance exams like engineering and medical, CA, amongst others.

Career Options After 10/12th Standard – Stream Wise –

Now that you know the importance of choosing the right stream, here are some popular career options you can go for according to your stream –

Science (PCM) – Physics, Chemistry, Maths

  • Sc in Physics, Chemistry or Maths
  • Arch (Architecture)
  • IIT
  • NIT
  • Engineering
  • Commercial Pilot Courses
  • BA in Computer Science

These are some popular stream options for students opting for Maths in their 12th standard. Entrance exams like qualifying JEE Mains will pave your pathway for engineering. JEE Mains – Paper II is for B.Arch aspirants, along with NATA.

Science (PCB) – Physics, Chemistry, Biology

  • MBBS
  • MS
  • Doctorate

  • Cosmetology
  • Bio tech

Students opting for biology usually pursue some of these courses. Exams like AIIMS and NEET enable you eligible for these courses in some of the most reputed colleges of the country if you qualify for them. These are some of the hardest entrance exams. Students taking PCMB in their 12th standard can opt for their courses, but managing both Maths and Biology in 12th can be pretty tough and hectic.

Commerce Stream –

  • CA
  • Accountancy
  • Financial Management
  • BBA
  • BMS
  • Computer Science

These are some popular commerce courses you can opt for anything finance and maths-related. Your number game needs to be strong for this stream.

Arts Stream –

  • In Arts

  • Bachelor In Mass Media
  • Bachelor In Journalism
  • Advertising
