NIFT Campus Comparison
The vision of NIFT is to provide students a learning experience of the highest standards. The institution also aims to encourage students to be at par with the Indian textiles and crafts and draw inspiration. Studying international trends is also a part of the process at NIFT.
Every year candidates are shortlisted for admissions based on the NIFT entrance exam. It is the NIFT cut-off that determines a student’s admission to the desired college for the desired program.
NIFT was established in 1986 under the ministry of textiles, Government of India. In 2006, the National Institute of Fashion Technology was declared an anonymous institute by the NIFT Act of the Indian Parliament. The first campus of NIFT was established in Delhi in 1986. Since then NIFT has been a human resource to the textile and apparel industry.

There are 17 NIFT campuses across India. The number of seats for students keeps increasing every year. In the year 2020, there were 4,219 seats available including all the campuses which have increased to 4,517 seats in 2021.

The NIFT Campus at Delhi has the most seats to offer followed by Chennai, Bengaluru, Mumbai and Kolkata. Most seats are available for the Bachelor of Design course.
