IIT M.Des Admission Guidelines for CEED Qualified Candidates
1. Introduction
CEED is the Common Entrance Exam for Design conducted by IIT Bombay. CEED is the entrance exam for admission to Master of Design (MDes) programs at following IIT / IIITDM institutes:

CEED 2025 result is declared on 4th March 2026 and the score cards are available to download from 10th March 2026. After qualifying, candidates must apply to the respective institutes for admission and fulfill other requirements such as tests and/or interviews of the respective institutes to become eligible for admission. The announcement for admission to the postgraduate programmes in design will be notified separately by these institutes. Candidates are advised to visit the websites of the respective institutes for information and application procedure for their programmes. Below is some standard guidance regarding the process of admission.

Application process for MDes Admission at IIT-IDC Bombay:
- All candidates who have qualified CEED 2025 and meet the eligibility criteria of each stream can apply for admission to MDes for various streams (AN, CD, ID, IN, and MD) in IDC School of Design, IIT Bombay.
- Application forms have to be filled online (http://www.iitb.ac.in/newacadhome/mdes.jsp) and the fees have to be paid online. Candidates also have to complete task/s for each stream applied for and upload these task/s along with other documents.
- Candidates who wish to apply to more than one stream will have to fill the form for each stream separately, along with the fee.
Documents required for application to MDes at IIT-IDC Bombay:
- File containing your recent color photograph (jpg).
- Scanned copy of your signature (jpg).
- if the course is finished, a scanned copy of your diploma or certificate (pdf). Kindly attach a copy of your final year mark sheet or provisional certificate if you do not have the final degree certificate. A certificate from the college principal or department head, as listed in Appendix 1, should be uploaded if the course is not finished.
- Upload a scanned copy of your Higher Secondary Certificate (pdf).
- Upload a scanned copy of your Birth Certificate, or Proof of date of birth (Passport, school leaving certificate, Class 10 certificate or Higher Secondary Certificate) (pdf).
- Upload the scanned Experience Certificate if applicable (pdf).
- Applicants in the SC/ST/OBC (NC) category must upload a recent category certificate (pdf) that has been approved by the relevant authorities. The OBC (NC) certificate format is found in Appendix 2. Appendix 3 contains the format for SC/ST certificates. Only certificates issued on or after April 1, 2022, for SC, ST, or OBC (NC) categories will be accepted.
- In accordance with Appendix 4 (pdf), candidates applying under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) Category must upload a valid EWS Certificate issued by the relevant government.
- Candidates who are applying in the PwD category should upload a valid medical certificate issued by the appropriate authority as per Appendix 5 (pdf).
- Candidates whose name is not the same as the name on the degree/ diploma certificate should upload a gazette notification, marriage certificate or passport page showing the change in name (pdf).
- Task/s for each MDes stream applied for / MDes by Research, in pdf format. File size for each task should not be more than 3MB, scanned documents should be 200 dpi or above.
