The Undergraduate Common Entrance Exam for Design (UCEED) is a national-level entrance exam and the only entrance exam for design for admission to Bachelor of Design (B.Des) to the prestigious IITs & IIITs in India. The UCEED is conducted by IIT Bombay, followed by four other IITs participating in the entrance examination, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad and IIITDM Jabalpur. The UCEED is also applicable for admission to other design colleges. At present, 10 other design colleges are accepting the UCEED score.
The UCEED entrance exam thoroughly determines the candidate’s ability to develop as a valuable design student at the university. It tests the candidate on both theoretical and practical knowledge at a foundation level.

Important Dates for UCEED 2023 Registration:
UCEED exam 2023 will be held on January 22, 2023. The last date to apply for UCEED 2023 with regular fees was 9th November 2022 and with late fees was 16th November 2022.

Steps to Apply for UCEED 2023 Entrance Exam:
Find below a step by step method to apply for the UCEED entrance exam application form.
- Registration for UCEED 2023: Students must register on the official website for the UCEED examination.
- Fill in Personal Details: Students must enter their personal details as it is on official documents.
- Fill in Educational Qualification: Enter your educational qualification with your marks.
- Select Test Centres: Students must select test centres that are closely located to them.
- Upload Documents: Uploading necessary documents like previous education certificates and personal identity information is mandatory for registration.
- Pay UCEED Application Fee: The last step towards registration is paying the application fee to secure your position in the UCEED entrance exam. The fee must be paid online through internet banking.
Application fee for UCEED 2023 Entrance Exam:
The application or registration fee for UCEED 2023 is different depending on the category of the student. The registration fee is:
- For women of any category = Rs 1,800
- For SC / ST / PwD category = Rs 1,800
- For Open / OBC-NCL / EWS category = Rs 3600
The late fee for UCEED application is Rs 500/-
Eligibility Criteria to apply for UCEED 2023 Entrance Exam:
- Age Limit: The candidate must be born on or after 1 October 1998 for Open / EWS / OBC-NCL category and on or after 1 October 1993 for SC / ST / PWD category.
- No of Attempts: A candidate can attempt UCEED maximum 2 times and that too in consecutive years. UCEED score is only valid for admission in the same corresponding year that the exam was attempted.
- Qualification: The Eligibility Criteria for the UCEED exam is that the candidate should have passed all subjects in the qualifying examination (HSC or equivalent) in 2022, OR should be appearing for the examination for the first time in 2023 to be eligible for attempting the UCEED 2023 entrance examination. Candidates from any STREAM of Science, Arts, Commerce or others can apply for the UCEED exam.
Download Admit Card:
