SNU was established in the year 2011.

SNU has its sole campus in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.

The minimum entry qualification for applying to Master of Design (M. Des) Program is as follows :

• Candidate should have completed a degree program of minimum 3 years (after 10+2 level) in any discipline, from a recognized university or institution at the time of admission with a minimum of 55% or equivalent

Highlights of the residential/mess facilities are as follows :

• Hostels are fully residential, state-of-the-art and gender-segregated units, designed to create personal space while incorporating shared living.
• Each hostel is provided with a pantry on the ground floor, equipped with microwave ovens, water coolers fitted with RO and purifiers and other facilities.
• The rooms and washrooms are well-fitted and the ladies washroom is built with feminine hygiene in mind.
• Functional seven days a week, the dining halls offer an assortment of Indian and International cuisines and are well serviced by fully functional HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) governed catering service providers.
• These are supplemented by a food court in the main academic block’ a café in the central library building, and kiosks at the hostel block that sells a variety of snacks.
• The quality of food served on campus is closely monitored by the student-elected mess committee and the University administration.

• Both Duke and Shiv Nadar University under the organization of Duke’s globally renowned Talent Identification Program (TIP) collaborate on the development and implementation of educational activities for academically talented students in India

• Low cost Innovations for Social Entrepreneurship – With a significant economically backward population and industry, India needs low cost innovation propagating through Social Entrepreneurship.
• Design for Sustainable Development – Climate change and depleting resources presents a new role for design in innovating Sustainable product-service-system.
• New Media Applications – With advent of new technologies in the field of information communication and its large spread impact, new media is a promising area of research from design perspective.
• Design for Special needs – With a large population with different disabilities and aging people, there seems to be huge scope for innovative interventions for special needs.
