  • 1. What is NATA?

    The national aptitude test in architecture (NATA) measures the aptitude of the applicant for Architecture.

  • 2. Who is eligible for NATA?

    Any person who has

    2. Passed or appearing in 10+2 Examination with PCM subjects

  • 4. When does NATA exam happen?

    NATA Exam occurs generally every week till July 2024. Examination shall be conducted on all weekends starting from April to July, 2024 in two sessions.

  • 5. How to register / apply for NATA?

    Registration for NATA can only be done Online. Candidate can apply at website and make the payment either through credit cards / debit cards / net banking.

  • 6. How is NATA conducted?

    NATA is Computer cum Paper based exam. The Aptitude & Mathematics Test is a computer-based test. The Drawing Test is paper based test.

  • 7. For how long is the NATA score valid for?

    The NATA score is only valid for two years. So if you give NATA in 2024, the score will be valid for admission in 2024 as well as 2025.

  • 8. When, Where and How is the Score card available?

    1. Go to Nata website and click on “NATA 2024 Result”
    2. Next enter the login credentials and click submit/li>
    3. After that your score card will be displayed.
    4. Download the score card for future reference

    The result will be available in three formats:

    1. A minimum of 20 marks must be secured in PART A
    2. A minimum of 30 marks must be secured in PART B
    3. Overall qualifying marks for NATA 2024 (Part A + B) shall be 70 marks out of 200
  • 9. What is the passing score at NATA?

    Qualifying marks for NATA would be based on the following rules:

    1. A minimum of 20 marks must be secured in PART A
    2. A minimum of 30 marks must be secured in PART B
    3. Overall qualifying marks for NATA 2024 shall be 70 marks out of 200 as aggregate of Part A and Part B

    Candidate will not qualify in NATA unless he/she satisfies all three conditions mentioned above.

  • 10. How is a tie break in NATA merit list done?

    The breaking logic for a tie in NATA marks for the purpose of merit rank would be applied in the following order:

    1. More overall marks obtained in Mathematics test component
    2. Less wrong answers in attempted ones of Mathematics test component
    3. More overall marks in problems of Aptitude test component
    4. Less wrong answers in attempted ones of aptitude test component
    5. Earlier date of birth

    Candidate will not qualify in NATA unless he/she satisfies all three conditions mentioned above.

  • 11. Can candidates ask for re-evaluation of NATA test marks?

    No, NATA doesn’t have re-evaluations.

  • 13. Which type of institutions offer B.Arch programs?

    In India, B.Arch program is offered by the following institutions:

  • 14. What is the basis for B.Arch Admission Merit list?

    The merit list for B.Arch Admission is prepared on the following bases:

    Note: Studying for XII Std is as important is studying for the NATA exam.

  • 1. What will be the advantages of Multiple Sessions in JEE (Main)-2024?

    In the 2024 academic year JEE (Main) exam will be conducted in 02 (two) Sessions for admissions in the next academic session. The candidates will thus benefit in the following ways:

    1. In the first attempt the students will get the experience of the exam and if the candidate is not done well they have another chance to do better.
    2. Multiple attempts will help the students to improve their scores in their next attempt.
    3. This will reduce unnecessary chances of dropping a year and students would not have to waste a full year.
    4. If anyone misses the examination due to personal reasons , then he/she will not have to wait for one full year.
    5. A candidate doesn’t need to appear in both sessions. The best score in JEE(Main) - 2023 NATA scores out of two sessions is considered for the Merit List/Ranking.
  • 2. When will the application window to apply for JEE (Main)-2024 be available?

    The Online Application Form for JEE (Main) - Session 1 is available from 01.11.2023 to 30.11.2023 (up to 09.00 P.M) on the website https://jeemain.nta.ac.in/

  • 3. Can a candidate apply for one session or more than one session together?

    Candidates have to apply for each session separately at the time of opening session for exams.

  • 4. Has NTA changed the syllabus of JEE (Main)-2024?

    The students can find the details in this site: https://jeemain.nta.ac.in/.
    However, keeping in view the decision taken by different Boards all over India, the NTA has decided to provide a choice in one Section of each Subject of Paper 1 and Part I of Paper 2A and 2B. However, the total number of questions to be attempted will remain the same (Physics -25, Chemistry – 25, and Mathematics – 25), wherever applicable.

  • 5. What is the mode of examination?

    JEE (Main) 2024 Examination will be held in “Computer Based Test” (CBT) Mode only, except for the Drawing Test for B.Arch. will be held in “Pen and Paper” (offline) mode.

  • 6. What will be the pattern of examinations?

    The Question Paper has been divided into two sections. There will be 90 Questions in the Paper 1 and candidates will be required to attempt 75 questions only. There will be no negative marking for 15 optional questions. Paper-wise details are as follows:

    1. B.E./B.Tech. (Paper 1- To be conducted in all four sessions): Each Subject will have two sections. Section A will be of Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) and Section B will contain Questions whose answers are to be filled in as a numerical value. In Section B, candidates have to attempt any five questions out of 10. There will be no negative marking for Section B.
    2. B. Arch. (Paper 2A)- Part -1 will have two sections. Section A will be of Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) and Section B will contain Questions whose answers are to be filled in as a numerical value. In Section B, candidates have to attempt any five questions out of 10. There will be no negative marking for Section B. Part II (Aptitude Test) will have 50 Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs). Part III (Drawing Test) will have two questions to be attempted on the Drawing Sheet.
    3. B. Planning (Paper 2B)- Part -1 will have two sections. Section A will be of Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) and Section B will contain Questions whose answers are to be filled in as a numerical value. In Section B, candidates have to attempt any five questions out of 10. There will be no negative marking for Section A and B. Part II (AptitudeTest) will have 50 Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs). Part III (Planning-based question) will have 25 Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs).
  • 7. What is the duration of the examination of Timing of Examination for those candidates who wish to appear for B. Arch as well as B. Planning?

    Those candidates who wish to appear for Paper 2A as well as Paper 2B will have the duration of examination 3.30 hrs. i.e. from 3:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

  • 8. What is the age limit to appear in JEE (Main) -2024?

    There is no age limit for the candidates to appear in the JEE (Main) 2024. The candidates who have passed the class 12 / equivalent examination in 2022, 2023 or appearing in 2024 irrespective of their age can appear in JEE (Main)- 2024 examination.

  • 9. Is it mandatory to upload Gen-EWS, SC, ST, OBC(NCL) and PwD certificate?

    Yes, Gen-EWS/SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PwD candidates are required to upload original certificates as per prescribed formats issued by the competent authority of their respective State.

    In case, any candidate does not have the certificate readily available with him / her, he/she can upload the self-undertaking (Appendix- 2).

  • 10. Can the student cancel the application submitted for JEE (Main)-2024 ?

    Once submitted the students cannot cancel the application.

  • 11. Can anyone submit the multiple Application form with the same mobile no. and Email ID?

    The mobile number and email id should be unique for each application form.

  • 12. Does the date of Examination of JEE (Main) - 2024 clashes with any other National / State level examination?

    NTA will check the issue, and rectify it as per the availability of examination dates.

  • 13. In case, the Candidate has uploaded a Blue Signature instead of a Black Signature in the application form of JEE (Main)-2024. Is it okay?

    Yes, it is okay. Your Application Form will not be rejected merely for this mistake.

  • 14. Is it mandatory to fill in the Parents/Guardian's mobile, e-mail and Income Details?

    Yes, it is. There is an OTP based verification for mobile number and email. The family annual income is a mandatory requirement.

  • 15. What do the candidates need to bring at the exam center?

    The candidate is required to bring the following at the examination centre:

    1. Admit Card along with passport-size photograph affixed on it.
    2. One passport-size photograph that should be affixed on the attendance sheet on the day of the Examination.
    3. Candidates are advised not to bring any other items to the examination centres. Neither NTA nor the centre will be responsible for any loss, delay, etc. Please refer to the Information Bulletin for details.
  • 16. How will one know the result of the JEE (Main)- 2024?

    The result of JEE(Main)-2024 will be uploaded in website www.nta.ac.in / www.jeemain.nta.ac.in

  • 17. In which medium JEE(Main)-2024 will be held?

    The drawing of JEE(Main)-2024 will be conducted in Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam,Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu in addition to Hindi and English.

  • 18. What is the State code of eligibility?

    1. State code of eligibility means the code of the State from where the candidate has passed the Class 12 (or equivalent) qualifying examination by virtue of which the candidate becomes eligible to appear in JEE (Main) 2024.
    2. If a candidate has passed the Class 12 (or equivalent) qualifying examination from one State but appeared for improvement from another State, the candidate’s State code of eligibility will be from where the candidate first passed the Class XII.
    3. Candidates who passed/appeared in class 12th from NIOS should select the State of Eligibility according to the State in which the study centre is located.
    4. For Indian nationals passing the Class XII (or equivalent) examination from Nepal/Bhutan, the State code of eligibility will be determined based on a permanent address in India as given in the passport of the candidate.
    5. The State code of eligibility of OCI passing theClass 12 (or equivalent) examination in India is at par with Indian nationals. However, OCI passing the Class XII (or equivalent) examination from an institution abroad are eligible for Other State quota seats or All India quota seats (but NOT for Home State quota seats) in all NITs, IIITs, and Other-CFTIs For more details, please refer to the Information Bulletin of JEE (Main)-2024 which is available at the NTA website: jeemain.nta.ac.in
  • 19. In the case of foreign national candidates (OCI/PIO), what will be the pin code in the address section?

    They have to put 000000 in the field of Pin Code.

  • 20. Will the selection for Admission of students under Direct Admission of Students ABROAD (DASA-2024) be made through JEE (Main) 2024?

    Yes. The Ministry of Education, Govt. of India vide its O.M.F.No.35- 9/2016-TS. III MHRD dated 21st December 2018 has approved that the selection for admission of students under Direct Admission of Students ABROAD (DASA) will be through JEE (Main). This may be applicable from academic year 2022-23 onwards. The NTA has been conducting JEE (Main) on Computer Based Test (CBT) in India and abroad for admission to undergraduate courses in IITs, NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs. The admission for DASA is done based on the rank obtained in JEE(Main) from the Academic Session 2022-23.

  • 21. How can students remit a free JEE (Main) - 2024?

    The examination fee can be remitted through Debit / Credit / UPI Card using SBI / Canara / HDFC / ICICI online gateway payment facility/ Net Banking.

  • 22. How to get a refund of a failed transaction?

    If a failed transaction happens in real time, then the candidate is required to pay the fee again through online mode and download the acknowledgment page. The amount due to the failed transaction of credit/debit card transaction will be refunded after the declaration of the final result of JEE (Main) – 2024.

  • 23. What is the method for determining the merit of a candidate?

    1. Conversion of the raw score in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry, and the conversion of the total into NTA scores. Overall merit shall be prepared by merging NTA scores of all shifts of all days.
    2. Tie between candidates obtaining equal Total NTA scores in Paper 1: B.E./B.Tech will be resolved in the following manner in descending order:
      i. NTA score in Mathematics, followed by
      ii. NTA score in Physics, followed by
      iii. NTA score in Chemistry, followed by
      iv. Candidate with less proportion of a number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in all the subjects in the Test, followed by
      v. Candidate with less proportion of a number of attempted incorrect answers and Correct answers in Mathematics in the Test, followed by
      vi. Candidate with less proportion of a number of attempted incorrect answers and Correct answers in Physics in the Test, followed by
      vii. Candidate with less proportion of a number of attempted incorrect answers and Correct answers in Chemistry in the Test followed by
      viii. Older in Age followed by
      ix. Application Number in ascending order.
