According to the official NID Admissions 2026 Handbook<\/strong><\/span>, the entire scoring system has been revised. The news is confirmed by industry experts and marks the biggest shift in the exam’s history. Here’s a detailed breakdown of the update and what it means for you.<\/p>\n

The BIG CHANGE: NID Prelims Score is NO LONGER Counted<\/strong><\/h2>\n

This is the most critical piece of information for every NID aspirant. Previously, the final merit list was a combination of both the DAT Prelims and DAT Mains scores. However, from the 2026 admission cycle onwards, this changes completely.<\/p>\n

As per the official handbook:<\/strong><\/p>\n

  • NID DAT Prelims:<\/b> This exam will now serve as a qualifier only. Your score will be used solely to shortlist you for the next stage.<\/li>\n
  • NID DAT Mains:<\/b> This stage will now have a 100% weightage<\/b> in your final score. The Prelims score will not be carried forward.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
