Application for NID Admission
Application for NID 2026 admission process is completely online and starts from Sep’25. Visit the official NID website for the application link. The admission is on the basis of rank achieved in the NID entrance exam called Design Aptitude Test.
NID Entrance Exam Pattern
NID entrance exam is called Design Aptitude Test. It has 2 stages- Prelims & Mains.
DAT Prelims: Paper Based Test, 3.0 hours, Questions on sketching, creativity, problem solving, form and visual sense.
DAT Mains: Practical Studio Test and Personal Interviews. The Studio Test has questions on Model Making, Sensory Tests, Design Problem Solving etc.
Weightage for Admission:

NID Results
The NID results are declared online. Candidates who clear the DAT Prelims qualify for the DAT Mains exam. Candidates who achieve minimum qualifying score in DAT Mains are eligible for admission in NID.
NID M.Des results are declared in Feb’26. NID B.Des results are declared in Apr’26.
At NID 2025 exam results, SILICA students have achieved All India Ranks 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, overall 178 qualified and 107 were allotted seats in B.Des & M.Des programs.
